Superior Performance Design, a leading well engineering and Subsurface service provider, are delighted to have been awarded the ISO 45001 certification for our responsible approach towards Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) in the workplace. This international standard demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe environment to work in for our personnel and customers. The ISO 45001 management system ensures that the performance of the company matches the high levels of environmental performance of the products we supply.
Superior Performance Design met the extensive criteria of these standards through a highly planned strategy, continually proving the business’s commitment to reliably delivering quality services to clients.
Earlier this year, Superior Performance Design was awarded ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and now has been awarded ISO 45001 (Health & Safety Management).
Colin Finnegan, Engineering Manager, commented, “achieving the ISO certifications has been one of the key phases of our growth. We recognised early in the development of the business the importance of trust in the relationship with clients, so we wanted to not only say we had high standards and processes but to prove our calibre through recognised accreditations. We believe a safe and healthy workplace is vital for employees to achieve their full potential whilst delivering quality products and service. We are committed to achieving high standard of health, safety and environmental practices, and we constantly review our policies and practices My congratulations to the wider team for guiding us through the process.”
The statement was backed up by Subsurface Manager Stuart Walley: “as we move towards increasing our subsurface and seismic capabilities, we need to ensure safety is paramount and adhering to the latest industry standards will help us achieve that goal. It demonstrates the commitment of our team and we are constantly striving to improve our processes and maintain the high standards that we’ve set ourselves”
The ISO 9001 certification sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is based on several quality management principles, including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001 will help ensure that our customers get consistent, good quality products and services, bringing many business benefits.
ISO 45001 is the world’s international standard for occupational health and safety, issued to protect employees and visitors from work-related accidents and diseases. ISO 45001 certification was developed to mitigate any factors that can cause employees and businesses irreparable harm. Its standards result from the tremendous effort by a committee of health and safety management experts who looked closely at several other approaches to system management — including ISO 9001.
Gaining this certification is an important part of our efforts to grow in the industrial and international markets, and the process was a great test for the reliability of the processes we have developed,” said Chrissy Chai, Consultancy Manager. “Certification on the first audit is a big achievement and doing so with zero findings is another level of accomplishment. I’m extremely proud of the time and effort the team put into developing this process – it has become the foundation and structure of our quality system.
Congratulations to all those who participated in the process of implementing the management system.
