Project Overview

A major operator required comprehensive Well Integrity Engineering support to evaluate, rank and manage an ageing well stock of more than 600 wells. SPD deployed a dedicated team of three well integrity engineers who worked embedded within the client’s Well Integrity, Well Services and Drilling Engineering departments for 12 months, providing end-to-end technical support from data collation through to risk ranking and remedial planning.

SPD’s Approach

SPD addressed the data challenge through meticulous primary data searching and collation. To overcome diagnostic access limitations, the team adopted novel rigless inspection technologies including echo meter leak detection, in-situ video surveillance in narrow concentric annuli, and 360-degree circumferential casing wall thickness measurement below the waterline without diver assistance. A bespoke database was built with predictive timing functionality. Individual well passports were created for every well.
